Your W-2s are a set. There should be a federal copy, a state copy, a local tax copy (irrelevant in California) and a for you copy. If you don't have what you need, make a photocopy of what you have.
References :
Can California Tax Return Forms be gotten online?
For some reason I have gotten my employer W2 forms for federal but haven't seen my California State copy. Can this form be downloaded online?
Also, what's the cheapest most reliable method of doing tax returns. Of course my radar is always on for the solicitors so I will assess and choose the least subjective option.
Thanks for your answer. I think the document I am referring to is the "state copy" per your explanation. I have always received it separately from the federal w2s and usually I just a couple hundreds from it. Any idea how I can get the "state copy" online?
